I’m Matt from Chaparral Motorsports here with the newly updated 2015 Alpinestars Gunner WP jacket.

The Gunner has been a popular seller, but astars being astars, they’re always looking for improvement. Same great quality with just a few tweaks here and there. So let’s run through them and the other great features.

Starting out with the outer shell, it uses 600 denier nylon -it’s the go to fabric weight to offer great abrasion resistance and allows a lightweight feel. The jacket is also coated with polyurethane to prevent it from absorbing water.

This is a waterproof jacket, which is great. What’s even better is the fact that the waterproofing is built into the jacket so you don’t have to worry about any additional layers. However, you do have a removable thermal liner. That’s what’s going to keep you warm on cooler days or on those cold mornings. At the ends of the cuffs and in the collar they’ve added neoprene to reduce chaffing and add comfort and they’ve changed this little collar keeper. This is used when you don’t want the jacket fully zipped. When don’t have it fully zipped it allows air flow, so do these climate control vents on the shoulders. They’re easy to get to and backed by mesh. On the back you have an exhaust vent that stretches across the entire back and these are always open to let out hot moist air.

You have CE approved armor in the shoulders and elbows. Then in the chest and back you have PE foam padding which can always be upgraded to Alpinestars proprietary protectors.  There’s some adjustability as well. This Velcro strap on the bicep pulls in any loose material and keeps your protection in the right spot. The cuffs are gusseted with a simple hook and loop closure. This makes it easy to adjust for a shorty glove or even a gauntlet. Then at the waist there’s another Velcro adjustment and the tail of the jacket is extended for extra coverage while in the riding position. You have some external storage with zippered hand warmer style pockets. And just for some attention to detail, all of the Alpinestars logos have reflectivity in them to enhance you night time visibility.

If we go back to the inside for a moment you can this red strip here. This is a waterproof pocket, so your more valuable items can go here like a phone or your wallet. Then there are a few more pockets in the thermal liner. This is the black/red/white, its also available in black/grey/hi-viz yellow and a black and white version. They have a huge size range; it comes in small all way to 4XL. For more info got to chapmoto.com and don’t for get to subscribe to us YouTube. Thanks for watching. I’m Matt, we’ll see you again.
